Hi everyone! This post is like, wow, something I truly thought I'd never write. I don't consider myself an ultra pessimist, even though I am definitely more pessimistic than optimistic. As most or all of you know, I was in a serious relationship for about a year and a half from the end of senior year (April 2009) until October 2010. I don't feel like linking the post because honestly, it's just too much for me to even go find and then subsequently read. It was the most difficult time in my life. For the first time I felt so alone, like I had nothing. (Of course this was right after a new school year had started and I wasn't attending that semester.) I felt hopeless.
In those first few months following, I found that I must have the best family and friends in the whole wide world. They stood by me, supported me, and were there when I felt incredibly weak. Honestly, I thought Trey and I were just taking a little break, then weeks turned to months, and five miles turned into thousands, and everything slipped away. Time was supposed to heal me, but it was killing me. I was a slave to the waiting game.
Each day, I prayed prayers of wishing to find someone or be shown the reasons for why I was hurting so badly. I cried everyday, literally I can't remember many days where something didn't remind me of Trey and being alone. It was the songs on my radio, the happy couples holding hands at the mall, the pictures, everything. I tried so hard to not let on about how bad I felt inside confiding only in Courtney. But as each day passed, I found that all the guys I talked to were only looking for one thing and that wasn't what I wanted. I wanted a relationship. It just wasn't in the cards.
I dived head first into baking. Every day. All the time. Then when I started school, I put every bit of energy and me into my assignments and products. I was beginning to believe that I had no other choice. I had God, I had my family, my best friends, and baking. I would spend the rest of my 20s, married to baking and business. I didn't think I'd ever find someone to appreciate and care for me like Trey did. I was hopeless. I gave too much and would never receive anything in return. I cried to Taylor Swift songs, even the happy ones wondering if I'd ever feel that.
Yes, I've been absent on my blog. I've been emotionally absent for ten months now. I've pulled away from me, but I'm back. I'm really back. Last Sunday, one facebook message gave me a glimmer of something I used to feel. We went out Tuesday and my goodness, I wish I could put into words how I felt being with him. I never thought I'd feel that way in my whole life. Seriously. I didn't want to say goodbye for the night. I saw him the next day when he met me at the gym. Then we rode in his truck to Target and it was so naturally easy going. Our conversations were endless. He took me out last night and asked me to be his girlfriend and I didn't hesitate for a moment. It was an, "Absolutely," moment. I'm beyond ecstatic, like I could write about how happy and excited I feel for hours. But I won't.
I just wanted to fill you lovelies in on where I've been and why I've been so rough with blogging for so long. I appreciate your support and patience because I always come back. I know I'll be criticized and called dramatic, but I'm here on my blog sharing my life, so I'll always be honest about my feelings: good or bad. We're definitely official now, so no more mysteries. ;) And just because I know I'll be asked, here's the picture, what ya'll have been waiting for. hahaha xx

Brighter than the Sun
Hi everyone! Following a question on tumblr as to why I don't blog as much, I kind of really miss it. This has always been my space and I love that. I've never had to be someone I'm not for readers to read. I'm really excited about a few things in my life right now. As I'm not quite ready to share all the wonderful details, QUITE yet, I wanted to give you a taste of what's going on right now.
I started a new block on Tuesday with a brand new teacher!! It's International Patisserie, Cake Formula and Assembly! This is where the real fun begins and I'll begin to really get a taste for what I want to spend the rest of my life doing.
We've already made the most wonderful Chocolate Souffles that were to die for. This picture above is a little bit after they deflated (and right before I demolished them with a fork.) Come on, I had to, souffles are best in the first 10 minutes after coming out of the oven. We also made Crepes Suzette. I have never had a crepe in my life (surprise, surprise) and I probably won't have another. They were surprisingly easy to make, but taste wise, just not for me. I did get to FLAMBE, like really light a pan on fire...seriously, it was the coolest thing ever.
Also on Monday, I started my new job working at Express, the clothing store, and I'm beyond excited for that. Our orientation/training was so much fun and I really like my manager. I can already tell I'm going to have a lot of fun, plus the discount isn't so bad either. ;)
Okay, okay, there is one more new thing that's probably even more crazy exciting than both of those other things combined! I want to literally spill all the details here, but I will show some self restraint. In the past I've struggled with keeping my private life, well private. My blog is like my diary, that people just like to read... haha. If you do know what I'm talking about, consider yourself lucky. I can count on one hand the number of people that know.
Yes, that will be changing very soon as everything will most likely be finalized within the next few weeks. Finalized isn't a good word, but can you blame me for trying to keep an air of mystery around this place?! As I lay in bed at almost 4 am, I'm so giddy with excitement and happiness. On that note, it's way too late to be awake, especially when I have school in the morning. Goodnight from me and Princess. ;)xx

Wednesday Wants
1. Taylor's whole look from the bright sunglasses to the oversized Wildfox sweatshirt. I will be emulating this everyday this fall (or whatever this in between season is called here in Arizona!)
2. Essie's Fall Collection called Brand New Bag centered around gorgeous fall accessories. These happen to be my three favorite shades (Lady Like, Carry On, & Power Clutch) in this perfectly autumn collection. I found these swatches at Carly Cristman's blog post here.
3. My own kitchen please. I am so beyond ready to have my own space in my own place. This is my dream kitchen, but any one will do. (Found at weheartit.com)
4. NYX Soft Makeup Artist Train Case - I've watched way too many videos with this train case as the star. (Okay maybe just this video here and this one here way too many TIMES!) I want it SO SO SO bad for my upcoming trips. You bet your sweet cakes I'll be picking it up to have as one of my carry on's. (Sorry laptop)
5. Oh goodness, speaking of my laptop I saw this case at American Eagle Outfitters the other day and almost almost ALMOST bought it because it's so perfectly me. I paint my nails constantly and 98% of the time I paint them right on my laptop keyboard. (And then subsequently spill on my laptop keyboard) It was so precious.
6. First saw this wallet on tumblr, reblogged it, found it on Fredflare.com and now I want it. This all happened in a matter of like 15 minutes. So cute.
7. Selena Gomez at the Teen Choice Awards. Her dress, her boytoy (who can beat the Biebz), and her makeup. Oh her wonderful makeup can be found here on Beautylish. I bought the palette and the quad that was used on her and I'm SO pleased.
8. Laura Geller Baked & Beautiful Kit containing a bunch of wonderful starter LG products! I've heard so many rave reviews about the Laura Geller Blush N Brighten found in a recent Birchbox from Ingrid (Missglamorazzi), Jayme & Mendi (HerLateNightCravings), Fleur (Fleurdeforce), and a few others. I'm really interested in diving head first into the LG products and this Ulta set is the perfect way!
What are you wanting this Wednesday, loves? Let me know in the comments!
Kisses and warm wishes,
D

Favorite Pictures: July
Good morning lovelies! It's Sunday and as usual, it came too soon. I thought today I'd do my Favorite July Pictures post. I don't know when the last time I did one of these posts, but I thought it'd be fun! This would be pretty heavy with baking pictures usually, but I've been posting them sporadically throughout the month for ya'll. :) These are going to be from a family getaway trip to Sedona and from the MLB All Star weekend!

Friday I'm in Love!
Happy Friday darlings. :) It's so funny because I actually heard the song, "Friday I'm in Love," while driving home from a very stressful day at school. I had two tests: one on math and the other a practical on our own original bread recipe. SO before I share my Friday loves, I'll show a picture of my original bread creation: Honey Chipotle Apple Bread.
Fridays are my favorite day of the week. I still get to bake, but then when I go home I know I'll get to stay up late tonight and sleep in on Saturday! It's a wonderful feeling.
1. Cold Stone Ice Cream Dates- There's something wonderfully perfect about a monster amount of cold ice cream in 115 degrees in the afternoon with your best friend. Alyssa and I had a lot of fun laughing and eating to our heart's content courtesy of her Cold Stone gift card.
2. Zoya Nail Polish- I've been seriously lusting after their amazing colors for weeks now and then I saw their matte shades and just about died. They're so gorgeous. Definitely considering a trip to Ulta today to pick up a few!! (P.S. Head to Beauty Forum tonight for Fave Fridays: Nail Polish edition!!)
3. Elton John- After my lovely car broke down on Wednesday, I've had the wonderful privilege of driving my aunt's BMW. I've had so much fun cruising around with the windows up/air conditioner on blasting her Elton John Greatest Hits. I don't know how I could have ever forgotten how in love with Elton I am! Current favorite songs: "Your Song," & "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."
4. Audrina Inspired Side braid- Lately this has been my go to hairstyle after seeing this video by the lovely Dawn of Beautyfulthoughts. It takes literally five minutes and it's so effortless. It doesn't look messy or anything and totally perfect for a hot summer day where you just want the hair off your neck!!
I hope you guys loved my Friday loves this week. I know I did!! Share with me your favorite things from this week.

Funk.
Hi strangers, I feel like I've abandoned Blogger for new territory. I haven't. I've just been in a weird funk. Beauty Forum is great second home for me. It's a wonderful outlet for my beauty world, but Blogger, this blog will always be my home.
I know I talked in my pre 20th birthday post about the struggles I had with school thinking they would end there and they did not. The academic transfer was smooth, but the financial one was not. You'd think paying almost half the amount would make it so simple. It wasn't. People become very difficult once they begin to realize they're going to be losing money for the school. Yucky. Last week I started my Baking Principles and Viennoiserie section which is basically Carbs 101, all breads. I don't enjoy Breads. They're not for the impatient (namely me!). They're tasty when finaaaally finished though. ;) Besides diving into the world of breads, I've been struggling to find a job with my parents on my case about it every morning, noon, and night. It's annoying.
Oh well, I must keep thinking that once I get a job, that means money, and money means makeup and savings for an apartment. I offish will be graduating on February 17th, 2012 which is in exactly 7 months! OH MY GOODNESS SO EXCITING! I cannot even handle it. I don't know what I'm going to do then or what city I want to live in. I really don't. I have a lot of plans to travel on my own some before I settle down and start my ventures into the real baking world. Besides having my adventures, my whole family and I will be traveling to Barcelona in June 2012 for a 12 day cruise around the Mediterranean, which I'm anticipating to be the time of my life. I don't know how I could even be in a funk with all of this exciting stuff happening all around me to be honest.
Hannah and I are working diligently on Beauty Forum. We're answering/researching questions constantly, dreaming up new ideas, and scheming new ways to expand. So please, check us out. I've also been posting a lot of videos on my Youtube channel - DanielleCuppycakes, which has been such a fun outlet. Who ever thought I could have fun talking to myself? hahah, but seriously I am having a blast. I may be in a weird funk, but I have nothing to complain about when I'm surrounded by so many fun opportunities and amazing people.
I'm so happy to be back to my blog. I've missed you all so much. I logged on to find 40 followers!! I'm so grateful for each and every one of you for sticking by me. Look out for more posts and when I'm not posting here, check out Beauty Forum, my twitter, and my youtube because chances are that I'll be in one or more of those places!! Love you guys! xx

Beauty Forum & Friday I'm in Love
I don't think I've stopped being excited since this all came about on Wednesday night! Hannah asked me to be a part of a beauty tumblr she was planning on creating. I instantly said yes and all these wonderful ideas started to flow from my head and hers through countless emails. Beauty Forum was born that night. Most of you have seen my tweets, our tumblr posts, my video on my youtube channel, but in case you haven't, I'll share with you what you can expect from us. We're currently answering beauty questions, offering product/website reviews, tutorials, our inspiration, our tips and our favorites. Hannah and I aren't strangers to the beauty world. We spend a lot of time talking about it, researching new products, watching beauty gurus on youtube, etc. We're excited to be offering our insight to those willing to hear it via Beauty Forum. Definitely go follow us if you're interested in anything beauty or are looking for a boost in your beauty routine!
And to keep up with tradition, it is friday. Ya'll know the song, "Friday I'm in Love," so I always share what I've been loving this week. Besides the obvious one, Beauty Forum, of course, I have a few others. :) One of them is featured in the above picture of myself on my lips!! NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams have taken over my life. The one on my lips in the picture is called San Paulo, but they have 10 other wonderful colors. They're not lipglosses, but they aren't quite lipsticks. They're so moisturizing and so pigmented and long wearing and only $6. Seriously, check them out at your nearest Ulta!!!
1. Cooper, everyone knows about my precious two year old Japeke puppy, but he's seriously one of the sweetest things ever. This week has had more downs than ups and he's been there to cuddle with. Yesterday after a long fight with my dad on the phone, I broke down on the floor of the kitchen in sobbing yucky tears and Cooper came right up next to me and snuggled into my chest. It was so comforting even coming from a dog. :)
2. Thirteen Reasons Why, I bought this book for my Nook this morning and I'm already thirty pages away from finishing. I can't really describe it. There's always B&N reviews for that. It is just so moving to see how someone can affect another life so profoundly and not even have a clue. I highly recommend it!
3. Dad, It's been a rough week for us, for our relationship. But it was also his birthday on Monday and it's Father's Day on Sunday, so I can't help, but think of everything he's done for me.
4. Pretty Little Liars, I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS CREEPY, GUILTY PLEASURE TO COME BACK AND IT DID ON TUESDAY! I'm so so SO excited for the season. Seriously, the show is so mindlessly captivating. You'll want to keep watching (ABC Family, Tuesday Nights, if you're interested haha)
I hope you all had really good weeks and have satisfying weekends! xx
